CT State Police Ask Help In Case Of Woman Who Went Missing

The Connecticut State Police Department is enlisting the help of the public in identifying the location of a 22-year-old woman who was last seen the morning of May 27, 2018.

Sofia McKenna is 5’9’’ with brown hair and blue eyes. She has a distinctive tattoo of cherry blossoms with a butterfly on her shoulder.

She also has the words “searching for the thrill of it” tattooed on her ankle, the Zodiac symbol for Cancer behind her ear and the words “thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path” across her foot.

Sofia and her friend Spencer Mugford went out onto the water in a mini sail off the coast of Avery Point in Groton the morning of May 27, 2018.

Spencer’s body was found on June 8, 2018. Sofia is still missing, and the last known communication was through a SnapChat off of New London Ledge Lighthouse in Groton.

Connecticut State Police urge anyone with information about this cold missing persons case to contact the department immediately.
